Navigating the military's DES (Disability Evaluation System) can be a confusing and stressful process. Your military career and future health care are in the hands of medical providers and administrators who will determine whether you are fit to continue service or whether you will be medically separated. If your injuries warrant separation, a board of physicians and officers will then decide whether you are entitled to severance pay or whether you are eligible for medical retirement and continued health care through the military.
I understand the frustration and anxiety that this process can cause and my goal is to help you every step of the way. From the moment your case is referred to the DES system, I will review your file and advise on any records that might need to be supplemented or addressed at the MEB (Medical Evaluation Board). If you disagree with the findings of the MEB, I will advise whether you should request an Impartial Medical Review (IMR) and I will draft an MEB Rebuttal on your behalf. Should your case proceed to a Physical Evaluation Board (PEB), I will review the findings of the Informal Physical Evaluation Board (IPEB) and help you decide whether to file a pre-hearing reconsideration request. If a Formal PEB hearing is necessary, I will help you gather evidence, review your planned testimony, and present your case to the board.
Having someone in your corner from start to finish is the best way to ensure a favorable outcome and give you the peace of mind that you deserve. Please call or email today if you have any questions about MEB/PEB representation.
